November came and went, but we got to enjoy some beautiful weather in the evenings and of course some turkey on Thanksgiving. We hope everyone enjoyed their Turkey Day.

In October we celebrated Ella Kobli’s 2nd birthday in Fishers, IN. We also celebrated Mindy and Gina’s 30th birthday with a tailgate party on Purdue’s campus during the Homecoming game.

October also brought us Halloween, and one little rascal of a pirate. This was Aiden’s first Halloween where he could walk the trick or treat trail, although he came down with flu-bug and wasn’t himself!

August and September were both very busy months around the McConnell house. We attended the Lake County fair for the first time in many years. Aiden was exposed to many of the animals and pets that he reads about in his books.

We also had the Hindson Annual Men’s Grill-Off, which Zac took first place this year for his black and bleu steak sandwiches.

Mindy’s family celebrated an incredible milestone in life, Grandma Nowak’s 90th birthday. We enjoyed a great dinner at Cafe Borgia in Munster with all of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

We also celebrated Maura and Greg Gantz’s wedding at the end of September. We were able to visit with alot of family that came in from out of town, including Aiden’s Nana.

In September, we visited County Line Orchard for apple and pumpkin picking with the Wenglarz Family. Aiden really enjoyed his first “fresh” apple and couldn’t get enough!

We attended the Chicago Bears Family Night Practice session at Soldier Field at the beginning of August with Mike and Mandy Wenglarz. It was very impressive to be that up-close to these players. We are hoping for a nice run into the playoffs this year!

We celebrated Aiden’s 1st Birthday in July. We had a wonderful party and were able to spend time with a lot of people that we hadn’t seen in quite awhile. Zac’s parents and sister and our niece Hannah came into town to help celebrate along with Mindy’s brother and sister and their families from Indianapolis. We dodged the weather and a creeping storm. It ended up being a beautiful day. We hope everyone enjoyed themselves as much as we enjoyed having them there.

Aiden is moving around still with the help of furniture. He has refused to start walking, but is learning to maintain his balance and is slowly taking steps between Mom and Dad. His teeth seem to be coming in at a record pace. He is up to 6 total. He can now say the words daddy and ma, light, dog, frog, truck and a few others that sound like words to him, but aren’t exactly right on yet. He is growing up so fast and we love every minute of it. Enjoy the pictures!

Well the month of June has been quite busy. Mindy and Aiden came downtown to visit Dad on a Friday afternoon and to go to Millenium Park. We played at the Pritker Pavillion and got to see the Sky Cloud, also known as “The Bean”. Aiden has been spending plenty of time in the pool. He got enjoy some rays at Aly Wenglarz’s birthday party. 4th of July came early this year. Aiden saw his first fireworks show, but of course it had to rain on us. So some of it was enjoyed from the front seat of the car. Well that is all for now. Oh yeah, there may be a naked butt shot in the album, so consider yourself warned.

Since we have made the move over to a new blog provider, we have decided that instead of switching all the past postings to this site, we would just provide the link to the old one. So if you are interested in seeing the first year of Aiden’s life, please visit us at www.zacandmindy.blogspot.com
